Daily Eye-Vite PlusTM is a protective formula for the eyes based on the AREDS 2 research, adding Billberry extract and Gamma-aminobutyric acid. Eye-Vite PlusTM combines the most important nutrients at the optimal dosages for maintaining visual health. Lutein, Lycopene and Zeaxanthin are pigments and anti-oxidants that protect the macula of the eye. People with low macular density of these pigments have been shown to be at increased risk of macular degeneration. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an important neurotransmitter that has been shown to improve visual function as well as cognitive and motor function. Bilberry extract and vitamin E are important antioxidants and have been shown to protect against oxidative damage to the eyes. Zinc is an important mineral for healing, and vitamin A has been shown to protect against vision loss in adults. One tablet provides: Vitamin A 1250 IU (375 mcg RAE, Palmitate), Vitamin C 200 mg, Vitamin E 90 mg (200 IU) (d-alpha tocopherol), Zinc 12.5 mg (zinc citrate), Gamma Aminobutyric Acid 250 mg (GABA), Lutein 10 mg, Lycopene 2.5 mg, Zeaxanthin 2.5 mg, Bilberry Ext. 30 mg.
